Lake Baikal is the largest freshwater reservoir on earth, and very oligotrophic and pristine in the majority. The city is located in the tectonic rift zone, is 25-30 years old and holds mio some 7 km of sediments. PhD Position Tech Scholarships in Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry

A Tech Scholarships close collaboration with the Hospital in Lausanne (CHUV) imaginable. Work will focus on methods of mass spectrometry-based proteomics and the development of techniques for improving the system in particular and biology in general. Among other goals, the project aims to reveal the unknown protease specificity derived from clinical samples, and application-oriented MS proteases with known activity. Field application of electron capture and transfer dissociation tandem mass spectrometry, hydrogen deuterium exchange mass spectrometry, etc. You will be working on a platform of high-end mass spectrometry, including Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance and Orbitrap mass spectrometer.

Intermediate Clinical Fellowships Tech Scholarships

This Tech Scholarships scheme is for medical, dental, veterinary or clinical psychology graduates who have had an outstanding start to their research career. It will enable successful candidates to continue their research interests at a postdoctoral level in an appropriate unit or clinical research facility.

Fellows are expected to develop towards independence with a view to a long-term career in academic medicine during the course of the fellowship.

Please note that we also offer the three-year Veterinary Postdoctoral Fellowship. This Tech Scholarships annual scheme offers clinically trained veterinary researchers with a PhD the opportunity to undertake high-quality research and develop their independence in an appropriate research facility in a UK veterinary school, with a guarantee of a permanent post at the end of the fellowship.

You should have completed general professional training as defined by the relevant college.

* Medical and dental candidates should either have a National Training Number (NTN) or Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) or equivalent.
* Veterinary candidates should have a degree in veterinary medicine (e.g. BVSc, BVM&S, BVMS, BVetMed, VetMB) and some experience in clinical practice and will have completed, or be about to complete, a higher research degree (preferably a PhD).
